Dave-G
Full .22 rimfire set up. New price Less than a year old, this shamelessly lightweight and Manoeuvrable Hogue stocked ruger has a volquartson 12.5" carbon-fibre/stainless tensioned match barrel (so it's low maintenance and hard as nails ), Automatic Bolt Release, Extended Magazine Release and a tuned trigger. RRP for the gun (only) was £640 last December. Includes moderator. I posted this the morning after it arrived: It has been frequently hunted with, so it has usual use markings. The very comfortable (warm) non slip soft surface overmoulded stock has a cut in it just above the safety catch which I supect came from barbed wire (last photo). The scope also has markings. The black velcro which is used to locate the stock mounted gun lamp dimmer switch, and the pouch on the butt for my battery pack will be removed prior to sale. current photo's deleted to save server space now it's sold I don't know what model the simmons is but it's a 6-24x50AO, with a custom made (for me) AO ring. This is adjustable in the ready to shoot position for rapid rangefinding without reaching to the front of the scope. Also supplied will be 3 genuine ruger magazines and two eagle ones. In addition there is a suitably short black zip up bag with pockets that just accomodates this 35.5", 4.75 pound masterpiece that even the smallest unfit hunter could walk with all day or night. It is short enough for most people to carry muzzle down by the pistol grip

Dave-G
Thanks LT - it sure is. I walk for hours with it. And I suppose, like many a first FAC gun, I chose a semi for the added fun factor. I now have an fac air rifle which will take care of close vermin, but need something for longer range work. A new 3000 acre permission I have specifies "no .22 rimfire" due to it adjoining a major A road, with ricochet in mind.
Dave-G
If someone were to mainly use the 17HMR barrel zero'd at say 100 yards, then put on their .22 barrel and shoot subs... What distance would they be on the crosshairs at ? Anyone tried this - out of idle curosity before they "re-zero'd" it to their chosen distance? Also, I guess you use a different magazine for each calibre?

Dave-G
Due to the difficulty getting .22 winnie's around here I have decided to withdraw them from the package, and save them for my quad .22 barrel.

Marine1980
I already have a SGC how difficult is it to get an FAC to shoot something like this and what is the proceedure to get one? Lee
Dave-G
Only just found this - sorry. Apply for one at the same place, stating reason(s) for needing it, 2 referee's and written permission for land that is suitable for this calibre of rifle. Usually over 40 acres if there are good backstops will suffice, if footpaths or other concerns are clearly visible to the shooter. Expect more involved checks on your history (I think- never started with a sgc)). Any land you shoot on, or wish to shoot on has to be deemed suitable by your chief constable for a probationary period.

Dave-G
I'm quite surprised too really - specially given the price reduction. I guess its the time of year though, There are shed loads for sale on the BBS but nothing is moving. I won't be further reducing the price as I'm not overly desperate to sell such a cracking gun. I'm still having fun with it - and I hear there's a shortage of HMR rounds anyway. Alas - if it's not sold soon I'll take it off sale, or put the price back up as I managed to get a slot for a .22 bolt action anyway Gunshops arn't keen to just swap things round anyway (I also have a .22 stealth 2k to go with it if I'm doing it on a new one) - so I'll probably just buy a HMR (17only) rather than P/EX this. Dave-G
The auto gearbox in my taxi has bust - So I'm taking some time out in cornwall while it's fixed Surprise visit to the Grandkids in Penzance - and hundreds of acres of never been lamped bunnies to be had between the forecast showers I'll also get to play with a 17HMR and pick up 1000 rounds of .22 winnie subs that seem to be unavailable in these parts - which was my reason for getting the acquire 1000, hold 1200 amount This gun will be with me if anyone who was considering it felt Leicester was too far
