cockercas
A friend has applied for a .22 hornet. Plod has phoned and he has to fill in another form ontop of his application because he applied for a centerfire. Has anyone encountered these forms. There also re-checking land that's already been cleared.

cockercas
I find basc a waste of time. I followed a thread on the stalking directory with members who work for basc saying some shocking stuff. The reason I have joined CA this year no basc. My mate is going to fill me in on what's in it on Thursday. Hopefully its a general safety questions. Something which I think is long overdue

Anyone who does so is making life difficult for other shooters and is ultimately helping to increase fees and extend waiting times due to the police doing more pointless work. J. Something which I think is long overdue That may be a valid point but the police should not be doing it of their own volition. If its required then it should be done via legislation. They tried this with reloading some years back. It was quietly dropped as no one filled the form in. J. cockercas
I'd thought about telling him to refuse to fill it in but I know they would make it difficult for him. So that's not my call. Myself I would of refused.

Myself I would of refused. They won't make it difficult. There seems to be this impression that the police constantly out to get you or trick you in some way - and I admit that I used to lean toward that opinion. They aren't, they have better things to do. This, I think, is even more true today as the licensing departments are almost entiely civilian staffed who don't have a police agenda or minsdet. Would be very interested to see the forms if you could post a scan. J.
cockercas
I'll see what I can do. They will make it difficult. They Tried with me and my .243 and there re-checking land that's been cleared for .243.
Livefast123
No wonder things are taking so long with them inventing all this red tape and funny bu**ers. I had no such faff with my first centrefire .223 application and that was only a few months ago.
