My dads got a shotgun certifacate and for the past year I have been happly shooting under the guidence of the keeper and dad but with my 15 birthday coming up I was just wondering what is the current law about going out on you own on private land at 15?

I understand you have to have a certifacate so I am going to apply for my own but will the policemen have to come round again as he has already seen were the the guns are kept?

And I understand I cant by ammo and stuff so will there be any need for all that again.

So many questions   :sly:

Does anyone know the minimum age that you can be issued with a Shotgun Certificate?

Am I correct in assuming that a person of 14 years can use a shotgun without being a shotgun certificate holder whilst in the company of an adult with a certificate?

What age can someone be a cert holder and possess a shotgun for sporting/competition purposes in a public place?

Thanks You lot  :sly:

Game Bore: I think you can have a certifacate at any age but it is only really means anything when you get to 15 when you can go out on your own. Theres a really good police website about firearms laws but I stupidly deleted it from my favorites so if anybody knows one it could be of help.  :)
