la bala
probably sounds a stupid thick question, do the cheaper range finders work on a lamped object in the dark.
Dekers
It doesn't matter if it is cheap or expensive, if you illuminate the target and it is within range it will work!

DIVERD
I have a cheap £90 ebay range finder, and a expensive swarovski one. Both work well in good conditions. The cheap one will always work well when it has a large, still and reflective subject. If i cannot ping the target i just ping something larger and close, like a tree, the difference in bullet drop will be minimal if the larger object is close to the quarry. The swarovski is way better to look through, and is better in every way, but is really asked is it worth the extra i would say no. However, i got it from a friend in a deal, and i only ever take one out! The cheap one is handy to have, but rarely sees day light. A lamped target tends to easy to see, and ranges well in y experience
Gimlet
I've a feeling form a previous thread on this that the only illuminted finders anyone could come up with were Leica. Not exactly cheapies. The cheapest way to range find under the lamp is practise
Dekers
But it's easier to see when lamping when the range finder has a illuminated digits Mmm thats a point. An illuminated range finder does not help you see the target, just helps you see the range finder! If the target is illuminated enough by the lamp then you can read the figures on the range finder as well!

It will be a very obliging target that lets you range it and then waits while you switch to the rifle to shoot it.
