cockercas
Instead of buying a £35-£40 kit couldn't you bed in with liquid metal? At £7 a tube. I was watching a bedding video on youtube and I'm sure I caught a glimpse of a liquid metal packaging. So what's the difference? Appart from the setting time

Appart from the setting time I now use a two part stuff thats meant for repairing aluminium castings. You can even cut a thread in it when cured. Anything that doesnt shrink and sets hard enough works, i believe some are using modern car body fillers due to the above
cockercas
Liquid metal is a 2 part resin. I've used it to repair car engines. It dosent shrink and sets rock hard. Dunkield
As I about to set the recoil block in by Tikka I am sort of interested in this. Do people use Devcon?

coyotemaster
I have used Loc-tite Gel with good result. It is a 2 part epoxy that never runs and sets up overnight.I use Kiwi neutral shoe polish as a release agent and it seems to work well also. kent
I think its very much a case of understanding how with the material of choice than the actual compound. my first couple of jobs were nothing like as good as i can achieve now, itsmostly in the prep and understanding the aim of bedding a gun
