Hi, I dont know how familiar you are with scopes (apologies in advance) but have you adjusted the eyepiece lens? On some scopes theres a small locking ring, undo this then adjust the eye lens until both image and reticule are as crisp as possible, then lock up and way to go. Being a variable mag scope you may find that on high mag its difficult to get both the ret. and target in focus. Sounds a bit strange that by opening both eyes this improves things, have you had an eye test/do you wear glasses? Just as an experiment do you get a better image by using the other eye? My eyes have changed as Ive got older and affect my use of scopes. Did you buy it new? (poss exchange for a more suited scope) Cheers mm

PS does this scope have fast focus lens on eyepiece and side adjustable parallax?
