Mr Majyk
hi all! just wondering what peoples experiences are with rabbiting at different times of the year? me and my friend went out last night lamping and didnt see to much the only reason we could figure out was they were staying in there burrows from the cold and maybe more would be out during the day? anyone else experience this? Gimlet
They're about in winter, unless they've done a seasonal migration or been hit by disease (see other rabbit thread above). But they are less active in winter. There is less to eat and they are usually not breeding so they don't get about so much and they eat less. I find dawn is better than dusk in mid winter and three or four hours after dark is better than last light.
cheekychappy
would you want to get your nice shiny fur coat wet? they don't either and fleas are less of a problem in bed in winter so they sleep indoors
Uncle Albert
They do settle down eventually once they get used to the change in day length. Maybe they have'nt changed their clocks yet!
