unburnt powder residue

Noticed recently ,with several different cartridges ,a lot of unburnt powder in barrel ,cartridges kept outside in shed and wondered if the cold temperatures recently has affected them ,brought them in now but wondered if anyone else had noticed this

mine are always stored under the bed (on the mrs side, just in case )

It's cold rather than damp in my opinion. Moisture wouldn't find its way out of a cartridge just by putting a box on the radiator for a bit before you go shooting but it would take the chill off. I also understand that the Proof House warms cartridges before testing to get them to burn hotter and so cleaner because the pressures will then be higher.

 

Maybe it's Georges way of telling us that his sponsors cartridges don't work well in the cold and how to work around this
