Hi all as you may knw was having some major grouping problems with my new CZ452 American .17hmr. After trying to rule many things out as suggested by yourselves I.e. Check barrel wasn't touching stock, scopes tight etc I bought a cleaning rod, brush, G96 solvent gun cleaner ( which the nozzle stuck on when I pressed down to spray down the barrel ) I gave it a clean and went down to Barry Range with a mate to zero our hmrs at 100yds. Upon arriving we went into a nice little shop which was obv the reception aswell, had some nice guns there and sold ammo too. paid the fee of £20 each for a days shoot, into the room where we was talked through a safety briefing + fire briefing! Now onto the range - the range is indoor in an old Train depo its 200yds long with large boards with multiple targets at 25yds, 50, 100 + 200yds.

Holds spotting scopes, sand bags and the members are very helpful one of the members even let me fire 1 shot of his 30-06 which shook the bones of me lol what a frightening calibre.

The problem with my accuracy problems with my hmr was -

1. Dirty barrel

2. Trigger pull as standard trigger on CZ is terrible so I will be getting a trigger kit for it.

3. Barrel gets hot rather quick and the groups tend to wander all over the shop.

All in all it was a real good day, I never thought I'd enjoy it as much as I did! It was a change from walking on the farm and in fact a nice change. Cannot fault the range, staff, or members all brilliant.

A link for wha mate?

Its through barry towards the fair, there's a train station on ur left fair ground on right, 80meteres up rd there's a little left hand turn! Take that and follow along side the old train station and ul come to a dead end with a building its in there.

Glad it's sorted,

Can I ask what cleaning rod and brush/jag set up you've gone for?

I'm having a bit of a mare firstly finding one and secondly choosing an appropriate one.

Thanks.

Rod wise mate im not entirely sure what 1 it is as it wasnt packed but i know the handle rotates and the local RFD is pritty good if it wasnt anygood he'd tell me. Brush wise i had a bisley brush think it was around £4 ish
