Sean Richo
Hi all after knocking on doors with not a lot of success thought I would put a post up to see if I got any response am after some permission to shoot pest species around merseyside or Lancashire am willing to pay the other thing is would there be anybody willing to try and form a small syndicate locally as if we could get a reasonable figure together between four or five of us could get a letter written up and go and visit some farms they may be tempted to give us permission then. What do you think anybody tried this themselves is this how small syndicates are formed any advice would be great as I am only new to pigeon shooting many thanks
bicykillgaz
If I was you mate I'd introduce yourself in the new members bit before asking for permission, I'd also fill out as much detail in your profile so people have a rough idea what your about. New members who's first post is asking for permission usually get slated by the masses as its a bit like asking a stranger for money, in the sense that we've worked hard to earn our permissions as we do our money so why would you give it to someone you know nothing about just because they ask for it. I hope you find some land mate either way Atb Gary
bicykillgaz
Just seen you've filled out your profile, I'd still get your self know a bit before asking unless you have some permission to offer in exchange. Atb Gary

Sean Richo
Ok I understand I wasn't really looking for permission off other members as such thought maybe there might be landowners etc who might be looking locally for people to control pests not looking for any favours I also put a post out to see if anybody would be interested in trying to get some permission with me and we could contribute to the cost that's all basically looking to get together with a couple of new starters in my area and trying to sort something out between us but I don't want any others members permission if that's what it sounded like

Sean Richo
John I have got some possible contacts because I rent a bit of land off a farmer for trucks that I have got for my business but the farm is tenanted and the gamekeeper has all the shooting rights however the farmer and gamekeeper have told me there are numerous farms that if offered the correct amount of money will let you have the shooting rights everybody has been hit by the recession so money is hard to come by that's why I mentioned the small syndicate as we could meet up and if people are willing get a plan in place etc i have got two small permissions already but would like a bigger area to shoot as the permission that I have is only small really and have to ring and ask if it is a suitable time to go just wanted somewhere I can go anytime and a bit more choice
bi9johnny
That's fair enough mate a lot of permissions have restrictions I have a very large one with a small 46 acre piece in the middle that I have to ring and see if its ok but over the fence on the other 800 acres I don't have to, it happens
Sean Richo
I will just keep trying I know a lot of farmers but a lot of land is leased from big estates by me like Lord Derbys estate in Knowsley it's surprising how many farms are included in his estate the farmers wouldn't mind but the gamekeeper has sole rights to the shooting. Am going to write up some letters and get out and about a bit further away were I know the farms are not part of his estate and do some knocking on doors am sure with time I will get some in the end if I do manage to get some permission will ask if two of us can shoot and could take someone off here no problem as am interested in different ways of decoying etc as have only recently started and only using basic decoys at moment would be good to see other people's methods
