THE GRIFF
My 1:8" twist tikka lite hates them, half inch group at 100 yards with 55gr standard harnady but the 53gr fast ones were hardly doing a 4 inch group with 3 shots. I have 17 of these 53gr bullets for sale if anyone wants to try them or swap for some 55gr hornady or ppu.
GatGun
Just noticed this topic. I always used to use 40 grain v max but ive used a few boxes of the 53g now and ive decided to go back to the 40 g standard. I find the 40 grainers more consistent with tikka1 in 12 twist. I have used them aswell in T3 Lite 1:8 and they were terrible,my mate had the same with his Sako 85 he was getting 5 inch groups at 100 yards. I contacted Hornady and they said they were having some problems with the round with rifles with short barrels.
bornfree
This is a bit of a worry as i just picked up my new T3 varmint 1:12" today and the only v-max ammo the RFD had were these. bornfree

Let us know how you get on with zeroing.

Let us know how you get on with zeroing. After 3 shots to zero the scope i shot a 3/8" 4 shot indoor group at 91 yards so i think it suits a 1-12" barrel bornfree

GatGun
Go back to 200 and do the same. Ive found the group is sound at 100 but go back to 200 and 300 and that is where i noticed the group size opening up drastically. At 200 yards the group should still be tight. I found i was getting random 2.5" groupings at 200 yards which isnt pleasing. the 40 grainers ive used for a couple of years were much more consistent at 200/ 250 / 300 yards. This is again with a 1 /12 twist tikka t3 light.
