HDAV
If given a shotgun the gifting party writes it onto your SGC and you both inform your local police. does a family member have SGC?
MG6065
Simply get someone over 18 with a sgc to buy you one. The gun is put on their licence then they put it on yours. I'm 18 and this is how I managed for 2 years. Last shotgun I bought me and my dad went into the gun shop, I chose the gun I wanted, I paid with my card and it was put on my dads certificate, we got home then he put it on mine... You simply get whoever buys you one to cross it off their certificate, write it onto yours in the transfer box then you both email police to inform them who you are, who gave you then gun and what gun it is and the date. DONE.

demonwolf444
Technically the law states you can only be gifted the gun? therefore any notion of paying for it surely stops it being a gift? A local game keeper gifted me mine. Paid him back in kind through working for him for a bit.
angrymallard
I'm from Northern Ireland but i got my FAC when i was 17 and just had all of my dads guns placed on loan. When i was 18 I added my own shotgun to my certificate, I still need to get my guns transferred from my dad's license though.
