jason kaye
I'd think twice about breeding Harris hawks mate, market already saturated with them, driving the price down to next to nothing and being so cheap every wannabe austringer/falconer end up with them ,then after a couple of weeks frustration either pass the poor bird on or end up killing the thing, thats just my opinion on it mate, but it's going the same way with goshawks. Jase. I agree, to many back yard breeders of Harris Hawks.I paid over a thousand for a F/Harris many years ago just after they first came into the UK. The last one I bought was a male, I paid just a hundred for it because there are so many unwanted Harris Hawks on the market. If the Hawk cant fly, I am sorry to say the best thing would be put it down. Sound harsh I know, but what is the other option. it sits in a back yard for the rest of its life and they live to over 20.
