Bleeh
would anything bad happen if I topped up my 5w30 semi-synthetic with 10w 40 Semi-synthetic?
Mick Shaw
It would turn over slower in this cold weather !
simjakcal
wouldnt worry about it if you were just topping up,,,just the latter is a bit thicker of a oil...
FarmerSim
Provided that is the only difference - make sure the oils are the same API/SAE spec, ( or whatever they call it today ) as some modern engines can be fussy about the additives in oils - either the lack of, or the addition of may cause an expensive "issue". E.G.:- the spec of the engine oil for my Navara is very specific, and though the viscosity grade is the same for the tractors, the Oil itself is NOT the same. I would NOT mix them - YMMV!
