xsmit
Hi, I have an Hatsan Escort Magnum and recently has problems with it miss firing, it only does if its been left loaded for round 15 minutes or more, I replaced the hammer, hammer spring and trigger plate. nut still gettinh the same problem If you look at it when it happens the hammer seems to stop just before hitting the Firing Pin. Any ideas? Cheers Jason
subsonicnat
Gunsmith mate, if you don`t know what you are doing: The hammer is obviously Jamming inside and not hitting the firing pin.. or: Firing pin snapped, it does happen:
longgun
Did you replaced(renewed) o-ring? Correct sizes? Edited February 2, 2013 by longgun
andy198712
are you letting the cocking handle go gently? you need it to be fully planted so just hit the button and let it slam home, if its not fully seated the above may happen... TIGHTCHOKE
In the service it's called a FORWARD ASSIST to the cocking handle, make sure it's fully forward and the gun should fire. Keep the action clean too.
xsmit
I always let the cocking handle go and I have checked that it is fully forward but still does it, As I said it only happening when the gun has been loaded for some time and never happened it on clays or straight after loading it. This was happening before I replaced those parts to. I replaced the parts as they were worn and the hammer spring was popping out in the gun thought it would of been related but apparently not. longgun
Please remove the o-ring, wait for ~20 min and try again. Tip: You can do the test at home too(if you wish). But save your ear etc. then use an empty hull with primer.
