scutt
lots of posts about how hard it is to get birds in the winter ,the thing is most of us know it can be a waste of time but when the farmer asks you to chase the pigeons around over his crops then you go .if you don't then the farmer might put the block on you summer shooting so it's not all play sometimes you have to forget about your fun and help out the farmer and stick to the deal you made with him

lakeside1000
I have always preffered winter shooting, the excitement of watching hundreds of birds floating in over the decoys, then trying to single out one or two to shoot, the old heart pumps like a steam engine as i pop up from the hide to take the shots, so what if you have to wait for a time before they come back, the peace and quiet out in the countryside is priceless, yes its good on summer crops to fire off 3 or 4 boxes and drag a huge bagfull of dead birds back to the car, but there is just something special about the countryside in winter, love it Edited January 30, 2013 by lakeside1000
