Ant8681
It feels like ages since I have been out on a "proper" hunting trip, I have made it out a couple of times this year but only very quickly and I did have some sucsess but I needed my fix so today I headed out. I got to my new ish perm at about 3.30pm got my gear together and head off up the lane, I had only walked about 100 yards when I started reconsidering as the wind was gusting really bad but then I came to the first gate and peered in, there was a rabbit about 15 yards away. I got myself into position on the bipod and realised it had myxie so I did the decent thing and put it down. A bit disheartened I carried on up the path into the next field where there is a dung heap so I headed for it and as I got to it I peered over the top to see 6 rabbits, I set my sticks up and took aim at the closest one, about 30 yards, squeezed the trigger and it dropped where it stood, this one was healthy http://i1171.photobu...zpsca13c36a.jpg I headed back down to the farm after paunching the second rabbit and quickly checked the dump, there was a rabbit sat at the other side but I had no cover, I got the rangefinder out and it was 44 yards so I took position on a gatepost and gave it 1.5mil holdover, waited for the wind to stop and squeezed off another shot from the hw100, it too droped on the spot, I knew that was going to be the best shot of the session. http://i1171.photobu...zpsd7e763b9.jpg I dropped the two good rabbits off at the car and went to check over the hedge by the house and to my supprise there were 6 rabbits sat right in the middle of the field the closest at 25 yards, there was nowhere to rest and my sticks were leaning against the car so I had to take the shot standing, good thing I have been practicing! I was late now but couldnt resist checking the next field after picking up my latest addition to the pie, again the rabbits were out in the middle of the field so after picking my target it was all fairly routine. http://i1171.photobu...zps06a18a38.jpg I am now home, rabbits in the fridge and I have a beer in front of the fire with the hail pounding against the window again!!!!!!
