Jon1212
Hi everyone! I'm John and live in London. I'm around quite a lot of farmland however all taken and no more spaces for me. I been constantly looking but I won't stop till I get some permission. Absolutely love the sport after getting a taste from going around some farmland with my uncle with the airgun. chrisjpainter
Hey Jon, welcome to the airgunners' section. It is always a slog getting permission. you a member of a local club where you can shoot in the meantime?
Jon1212
Hi Chris. I have been to a few clubs however I do wish to find permission as there is nothing like the real thing. There's so much land around the location I'm in however so difficult as the land owners have already given permission to people. Where are you from? How long did it take you to get your permission?! chrisjpainter
Quite a few months mate, and pulling some strings! But I'm rather lucky in that there are not many airgun shooters near me. It's a hard grind. If it's all taken, get to know the people who have the permissions, you never know you might get a day's shooting here and there with them and you'll get to know them and might get to know the land owners as well. Keep at it!
FalconFN
A good way in would be to play to your strengths, ie. Air rifles are perfect for shooting in and around buildings, so offer to shoot feral pigeons and/or rats in barns etc. If you get the ok you'll have your foot in the door, then if you do ok you may well get a few more opportunities. Alternatively keep an eye out for any areas where there are lots of rabbits/pigeons and let the farmer know and offer to shoot only that area one evening. Good luck. It's quite difficult to find places to get permission in London, areas such as potters bar, Brookmans park etc. went out today to knock on a few doors however still no luck! Oh we'll il keep trying. Thanks again.
