Call out for a chicken killer

I received a phone call from the shoot captain the other day asking if I could go out and have a look for a fox that had taken the farmers wife's chickens...........

That night saw Ratcherman and I in pursuit with his .22/250.....

We quickly checked the chicken coop and there was nothing hanging about there so made our way towards a nearby wood where I was going to have a call ...................anyway as I climbed through a fence I ripped the wires out of my lamp  so it was back to the car to do repairs , luckily I had a screwdriver and tape in the motor. Ratch repaired the lamp in expert fashion and we were off again but decided to go the opposite way round this time.

After lamping and calling for around and hour and a half and seeing nothing we started to head back to where I was initially going......as I cornered a bend I lamped a fox no more than 30 yards away but it scarpered quick. We quickly got to the highest point in the field and there was no sign of it :bye2:

I then lamped a gorse clad mound at the bottom of the field and there was a fox sitting without a care in the world . ................ I'm pretty sure it couldn't have been the one that had just scarpered.

Ratch was down on the bipod in a flash and shot a tiny vixen in the neck at around the 150 yard mark :D

I dont know if it is the chicken killer but we took it to the farm and the farmers wife was ecstatic to say the least " Well done , I hate the bxxxxxds " she proclaimed   :thanks:
