hoggysreels
Picked up 5th Feb ... 6 cartridges fired and trigger jams solid. Bottom barrel will fire, top couple of rounds ... this time bottom barrel will fire, top barrel won't, trigger solid. Took it back to gun shop, they had it for a week ... picked up gun and happened to meet gunsmith that sorted it. Asked him what was the actual problem ... he obviously didn't want to specifically tell me and after telling me it a budgst gun it was fine and fixed. Next day ... on the farm .... high crow crosses me ... l immediately flick the selector to choose top barral ... jammed ... total cartridges fired nil .... Back to the shop ... gun being repaired .... frankly in hindsight l wish l'd not bought it. To be fair it is a secondhand Lincoln Premier Multi Choke ... anyone else heard there being reliability issues with these guns .. l'd read some good write ups about them prior .... cheers
Lord Geordie
The smithy should have the common decency to tell you what the problem was if.it.was repaired! The fact He was silent would denote he was stumped to find a cause. Now then! Did the trigger it's self jam? Or did the trigger release the sear but no detonation? If the trigger blades themselves are jamming, with no movement at all then I would be inclined to check the safety mechanism isn't broken. Failing that check the whole trigger group for any damage that could cause fouling of the sears and blades.
WelshAndy
I'd be asking for a refund or another gun in exchange.
hoggysreels
Safety mechanism ... apparently the detent ball bearing is not being retained ... this fault isnt related to original problem ... I'd read for the category/price etc the Lincoln Premier Multi choke was one to go for ... hope l've not bought a pup ! I'm currently using my SBS Baikal ( till the Lincoln comes back ) and everytime out l end up with a bleeding index finger ... l bought a recoil pad and tried it out this afternoon. The cut it caused last week has reopened and l had blood all ov. trigger guard and wellies again !! ... it's only a cheapo recoil pad, a slip on rubber effort ... anyone aware of a way of taming them .. it a Baikal ??58MA ... I keep as a backup and l do like the rough basic nature of it, though it don't like me :( Edited March 2, 2013 by hoggysreels
