kennett
To be honest I wouldn't bother with call ducks mate, just feed the shallows with a bit of wheat/barley/potatoes etc from about the end of July. Decoys can work well as the ducks that flight in expect to see ducks there feeding
Ferretboy111
Yeah call ducks aren't necessary- just feed it. A
gamekeeper1960
It all depends ! how close is there nearest flight pond from your that pulls in the ducks ?
Outlander
Sorry to hijack this thread but what do people use if your pond hasn't got a shallow end? Out
.philmypower.
A floating pallet
kennett
Usually a raft that you can pull backwards and forwards from opposite banks, as said a pallet with some added floats is good
The Ghost
As above feed the pond they will soon find it and keep coming back, feed about a month before...I tend to beg feed off people. I never use a call for ducks (No good at it) but I will decoy after first couple off flights if they are unsure as they have been shot at recently. Ducks will love safe ground so as above again, an island they can get on to....this is your hardest job but well worth the effort Great if you get it right, you will be amazed how many will come on to the pond. Good luck BigAdam...you are very lucky Edited March 3, 2013 by The Ghost
