Dog theft

Withouut sounding stupid but how do these people steal dog's anyway?

My dogs are big soft lumps with a great temperment yet i wouldn't fancy my chances if i was a stranger going up to the kennels and taking them out in the middle off the nite or even throu the day for that matter, they would certainly bark the place down. Same if i go to a mates place all fine and well when he's there and u know the dog but i would not really fancy going round on my lonesome even knowing the dog and certainly not late at nite.

As for the dog baiting i have no idea, but there are some people who are a waste of skin so it would not surprise me, althou i doubt it is that common either

If it barks and there is nobody to hear it not a lot of good besides dogs are real turncoats if you have some lumps of liver, cheese, chicken etc in your pocket. I have seen an uncle of mine win a bull terrier in a bet one time, it was just about the meanest dog I have ever seen . Thing was he had a client who ran a caravan storage facility and its just what he wanted, the owner said he could take it away for nothing if he could get it in the back of his van without injury to either himself or the dog as a bit of a joke initially. Abbreviating a long story a lump of lambs liver went in the back of the van, he slammed the doors shut from a prone position on the roof, drove straight onto the caravan place- perimeter opened van backed up, same trick in reverse. Now anyone want to bet I cannot get their gundog from a kennel and into the back of my motor? Don't assume your dogs are safe because they tell you when someone is about. just make it as hard as possible and keep the kennels locked constantly even if your in the house, don't disclose pedigrees willy nilly and don't tell strangers how good a dog you have " oh its a failed gundog " will do for strangers who question
