A guy rang me and offered full cost inc postage but how do I send a rifle via post ? It's 88 miles away and the guy can't drive half way. He's offered the money in a jiffy bag which concerns me . He's 66 years old so not a child and he can't do bank transfer What do I do ?
T-Bolt94
Could you do the transaction through an RFD, Send the item to him and do the transfer that way.
Marki
I'm fairly sure, but happy to be corrected, that you can post an air rifle as long as you make every precaution to ensure that the buyer is of a legal age. I think that the big problem is that Parcel Force will not pay compensation if anything happens, it's in their terms and conditions. Cost to post the rifle, insured is between £15 & £25 and the cost for him to post the cash, again insured, is going to be around £6.50 so £22 -£32 in total for post. 88 miles each way works out at about £30 of fuel and 4 hours driving. Would you do the driving if he paid for the fuel?
