Medic1281
Hi, I'm going to have a look at a vitara tonight. It's to be used as a shooting wagon. Is there anything I should look at or be aware of when looking at them. It's a 'N' reg so quite old but is taxed and tested. Any advice would be gratefully received! four-wheel-drive
They are great little truks brilient off road with some good AT tyres the only real problem with them is rust if you can lift up the carpets by the sear belt ancor points the back ones always go rusty have a good look underneath and if it is not rusty grab it you will not regret it most other problems can be sorted but rust is a killer. cockercas
If vits are the same as jimnys listen for the transfer chain whining when you set off. And dump it in 4L and do a circle on full lock listening for any unusuall noises. Do both left and right lock.

secretagentmole
Damned good, we bought an M reg one for £350, had rust in the usual place but was an easy fix. Roof needed replacing, got one from a breakers for £50, reliable as hell. In 2012 when the temperature was minus 16 it was the only car to blasted start. Heater was as effective as a dormouse farting.Heat screen or us, not both, mind you the snow on the bonnet did not melt until we had parked up in London, it was cold, very cold! Medic1281
Well I've just bought a N reg one which is taxed and tested until sept. I gave £380 for it. Need to put some decent tyres on it and convert it to a pickup i think. For that money I can't really complain. No rust as its been wax oiled. Think it'll make a good project. Medic1281
I'm not convinced its a bargain yet, but I plan to have it as a project so hopefully it'll be ok. I'd like to make it into a pickup as the soft top is in very poor state. Also would like some good tyres and maybe a bit of a suspension lift. Not done this sort of project before so any advice will be welcome!
reegy
Can't beat them I've had nivaras hilux and a ford ranger these little jeeps are so light perfect for lamping I'm on my third one only paid £250 so when the tax and mot runs out ill scrap it and buy another doesn't matter if it gets dented or scratched also plenty of room in back for shooting equipment
