Also whats the difference between .17HMR and .22 what is the best calibre all round i used to use a .22 previously ? Thanks for your help. Neil.. You can shoot vermin up to fox with a .22 who said that ? The best all round calibre does not exist as they are all different, some more so than others. I would do a bit more research before you apply for a firearm.

Personally I would ask for x rounds of expanding and x rounds of non expanding (used for checking zero if your asked) I have 1000 to purchase and 1100 to hold on all calibres of ammunition I hold. See if you can get as much as you want first off, saves a lot of time and effort later on. However if your using for vermin control only they may question why you need so much. My FEO was OK with this, he said if I dont use enough it will be reviewed at renewal.

CharlieT
.22lr should suffice. No need for any other description. As far as caliber choice is concerned, a search of the web will give you all the info you could ever wish to read !!

Dont take this the wrong way I am not advising that you dont apply just that you gain more experance before you get turned down Deershooter
