Gun Watch
Winchester 1400 MKII £200 12 gauge Shotgun Private Seller Used - Average Condition Salisbury, Wiltshire Semi-Automatic, -, -, 25" barrels Description Winchester 1400 MK II Section 2 (SGC) - 2.3/4" chamber with 2+1 capacity. Classic American self-loader in 12b. The base shotgun is quite nice and uses a fairly interesting action design. This one is unusual (possibly unique) in that it has been set-up to use a sound moderator. I bought it to have a look at it - I'd seen very few semi-automatic shotguns with a sound moderator. It has been interesting having it, it does work, but it isn't ideal for someone (like me) that just shoots clays. The barrel is ported, top and bottom, along half of its overall length. It has a mount permanently affixed to the barrel - this is what the moderator attaches to. Since the mod just threads on and is quickly detachable, the shotgun is easily fitted in a standard gun cabinet, and regular size case or slip. Sound reduction is good with subsonic 12b cartridges, but they don't automatically cycle the action. It will cycle well with standard velocity 28gm cartridges. It seems to be fine with plastic wads. It is in resonable condition for its age. There are some bumps on the stock, a small patch of rough bluing just behind where the moderator mounts, and the bluing on the ported section of the barrel is worn. The pictures should give a good impression of what the condition is like. Price is +£25 if shipping required.
