steve_b_wales
Has anyone changed the LED's on the above torches? I have an XSearcher with red LED fitted, and also have an IR led. The red LED has two slots that a circlip pliers can be used to unscrew it from the neck, but the IR LED does not have these slots. I'm not sure how I can screw the IR one into the neck. Any thoughts? Steve.

Steve. UPDATE: I've just looked more closely at the IR LED, and it has two very small holes on the brass fitting. The IR LED can be fitted/removed by simply using a small panel pin slotted into one of the holes. There probably is a 'special tool' available for this task, but I won't be buying one. In fact, I'm going to see if I can make my own. my IR one has them but that is the standard NM As far as I know, the standard NiteMaster 800 is virtually identical to the XSearcher, apart from the lens size. UPDATE 2: I made myself a cheap 'special tool' by putting two panel pins through a piece of wood, which in this case was a piece cut off the stick of a rocket firework. The pins had to be placed 21mm apart to fit the LED holes. It also works if you want to replace the end cap switch with a pressure one.
