Ferretboy111
Hello, I went shooting 1 or two months ago at high lodge clay shooting with a mate and my new gun, its a lanber with a straight stock, however on the high over the head birds i couldnt get onto them with my gun so i borrowed my mates beretta and was hitting them all, even the midi's at the highest range. I asked why to my mate and we couldnt understand until we looked at the stock and found out that it was right hand bent abit (on purpose obviously). What could you suggest i can do to hit these high birds, aim to the left of them abit? Dunno whether anyone else has found this as a problem, eventually ill just save up and get a right hand twisted stock. Alex P.s if u get what i mean? MC
Alex, Don't really understand what you mean, are you left handed and the guns is cast for a right hand? When you say your gun has s traight stock do you mean no pistol grip? or the stock is straight (paralel to the rib) I would book a lesson with a reputable instructor and use a try gun if they have one and get your gun fitted to you. You may just find that your friends Berretta is nearer fitting you than your lanber. I do not see any point in aiming to the left as this will start to get conusing when birds are going in different directions, ideally you want to put the shot where you are looking. Hope this helps. Ferretboy111
Im right handed, if you hold the gun on the floor with the barrels pointing up at your face ( make sure it isnt loaded) and look down the gun the barrels and stock are usually the straight together, however you can get guns which the stock is turned right from the barrels, if you get me, i cant remember what its called. the last engineer
right hand cast. not too add confusion but as FM said looking down the barrels will give you an idea of cast, turn the gun upside down and look again you may find "toe in" on the heel of the stock even though the stock is straight, this can and will allign your barrels perpendicular to the body **** who started this, get the thing fitted as Martin said, cure all problems prevention's better than a cure right Martin
