BSA Meteor

Hi all, I've been given an air rifle, a BSA Meteor. It's a bit scruffy and the spring is weak. Is it worth servicing and are they any good? Thanks. DS.

Its not going to give you any competition wins but at 25 yards its pretty good on anything up to rabbits. I have an old Mk2 and gave it a new spring, piston, washers, etc last year, its a great little rifle.

I think that the BSA Meteor runs at 6 ft-lbs. That's half the uk power limit. I had one as my first ever rifle. It was good for close range stuff, rabbits to 25m max. They are pretty accurate, and nice to shoot. I'd say well worth a tune up and a service. Maybe with a non genuine spring replacement, you may get a bit more power too
