Wagtail
Hi all I was hoping someone may be able to recommend a good local gunsmith please? I'm right on the West Hampshire / Dorset border not far from Ringwood. I'm aware of the local gunsmiths / retailers but heard there are a couple of very good local independent's out there. Many thanks WT
dodeer
M. Rainback near Dorchester is good. Don't know if Geoff Wiltshire still does any ( he used to work for the Gunshop in Ringwood).
Wagtail
Thanks dodeer Dorchester is a little bit far but Geoff is one of the names I'd heard of, not sure if anyone has his number please? Also a former metalwork teacher from Burgate is meant to be very good? Thanks again for your reply!
samh6
https://www.facebook.com/GeoffWiltshireGunsmithing theres also a Mike Collins who's bournemouth based, wouldn't go near Lambert & Whiltshire in Ringwood, Tal is all airgun based now bar Webley shotguns and NSI cartridges at expensive prices, but it all depends on what you are after to be honest. samh6
There is also another guy based in south ringwood near duck island way, he is very good with rifles & S/S shotguns however not very familiar with O/U's. very secretive chap but theres no harm in asking if you are looking for that type of work. Wagtail
Thanks for that samh6. I'd heard that about Lambert and Wilshire and also got a snidey comment from them when collectiong an RFD'd gun to the effect of you could have got one here - Yes but not at your prices! I've got a webley & scott .410 sportsman which is the three shot bolt action. The problem is it won't hold the other two cartridges in the internal magazine and if it does it missfeeds them so it's a kind of bolt action problem? Do you have any contact details for the chap in Ringwood (pm me if you'd prefer) please?
chrispti
Geoff no longer works for L&W, he's gone on his own. I'll pm you his number.
