Comparing NV rigs.

I removed my DIY digital dedicated/scopeless rig from the air rifle for the summer so I fitted a 25mm lens on it to compare what can be seen with an add-on rig if you make it a slip off spotter - or "Spot-On" type rig, and Blu-tacked it on the dashboard. 25mm lenses are in both rigs. Ignore the crosshair of the spotter - I forgot to unplug the overlaid crosshair generator.

The full wide angle views were recorded with a JXD 990 DVR - and the Spot-On rig recordings were made with a PV110 mini DVR. Scope is a 6x38 fixed mag with no focus/parallax adjust so I just tolerate the sometimes poor focus, 6 x mag is a bit big for the 25mm lens but I don't like how bunnies get smaller in proportion to distance at longer ranges compared to how the human eye would perceive it. Most of the bunny shots were about 60 yards away - same with the Munty at the first place I saw it.

IR was an Ultrafire 501B with a DIY fitted Oslon Black 850nm LED in a P60 drop-in with an Ahorton aspheric lens. The first and second scene, (+ another two) are the same events and shows what often happens as we faff about with DVR's. You too can miss opportunities if you get a DVR.
