hedge
Went out with my mate on a permission on Monday with the aim of decoying some crows. We set up by a favoured sitty tree and put some deeks out. We bagged 3 or 4 but were hardly getting lots of birds coming past. The canopy of the tree hid us quite nicely but our view was obscured. We are right next to farm buildings with a few ferals in so to pass the time I walked back to get my air rifle. I noticed about 50 corvids on a freshly drilled field the other side of the farm. Realising our mistake we rapidly relocated to a hedge by the field - stuck out the deeks and managed to pull in birds all day. It was very windy which kept them nice and low; literally hedge hopping and sometimes they appeared out of nowwhere. We should have bagged a few more but shot about 40 with 34 picked (plus a bonus rat and 4 ferals with air rifle). We both shot with Hatsan Escort Semi's (synthetic) my mate using 32g 6.5's and me using 29g 6's. We find the Hatsans shoot well at range and most were shot at about 35-40 yards very effectively. We fired about 120 shells so room for improvement.....
