Underdog Posted May 31, 2013 Report Share Posted May 31, 2013 I love the cheapies. Rough,noisy and covered in lousy plastic! But a tinkerers dream! I bought a cheap Webley Value Max (be warned no club points on yer Tesco card!) and in 177 out the box it was not bad! Apart from the trigger and stock! Looks to be a Chinese made item and the trigger is a doddle to sort. The green plastic stock has a long reach to the trigger. The blade needs cutting and tig welded back on 1/4" further back. The front of the stock is way to flimsy and the screws want to chew through the plastic. So I drilled out the plastic so two ally escutions can pass through and the screws now bare down on them. A polish of the cylinder and piston and a washer in the piston has helped stop some of the harsh piston bounce and as rough as it is it really shoots well with quite a range of various quality pellts. It even tries with cheap pellets! On the open sights I was amazed by what it could do. If you like a fiddle and are a tight wad go ahead! U.
