pegasus bridge
i managed to get a quick session in shooting rabbits last night, lots of wheat up quite high now, but some patches of damage and edges to shoot them on. I had shot 5 in about 40 mins from one spot with the HMR, no more than 1 minute after the last shot i hear rustling in the long grass near me, i get on the rifle quickly thinking its a rabbit, when up pops a badger, followed by two younger ones. i was stood in full view of them, not more than 10 yards away, i managed to get my phone out and get a short clip. For anyone impatient, the best footage is after 1.44, i think Brian May would consider this 'the money shot' i was surprised that the sound of the shots didn't scare them off. No badgers were harmed in the making of this clip by the way Edited June 10, 2013 by pegasus bridge
four-wheel-drive
You was very lucky I have never seen much more than a quick glimpse of one before it is gone.

pegasus bridge
You was very lucky I have never seen much more than a quick glimpse of one before it is gone. i know! i was really surprised, as i had just made a load of noise, and was standing in full view of them, (the wind was cutting from left to right ). there was a moment when i was not sure if the big badger was standing its ground, but they just behaved as if they had not even seen or heard me. the only other time i have been that close was out lamping , we had one run at us, it only stopped when i shouted at it, but that was all over in seconds. Great footage !!! cheers, bit shaky on the mobile phone though.
djgeoff
You was very lucky I have never seen much more than a quick glimpse of one before it is gone. i was at my local clay club the other evening with the intention of taking a few rabbits out, just got out the motor, accessed the ground stood just inside finishing my fag off, slowly moved to round a corner to try to catch any bunnies, and a badger came waddling up center of overspill grass car park. i stood still , i should have been in plain view and in scenting range of it as wind was blowing wrong way,but it kept on coming and walked approx 15ft from me and causally made its way into a near by pit. it is only a small ground but up to now i have seen foxes, roe deer,a stag, mud-jack and now mr badger. it is amazing what you see if you sit/stand still long enough, we just wiz by in our cars etc and miss a lot. two nights ago in the same ground i was testing out ns200, while i was scanning around roe deer popped into dtl field about 75yds away and came towards me( i was by trap) it came very slowing stamping ground with left hoof and looking straight at me,it would take another few paces and do the same again. i think it new things were not right, but it came within 25-30yrds of me then it turned its head so i move nite sight to see what it was looking at and a fox came up to approx 4-5ft of dear then promptly sat down facing me scratching itself while the deer just munched away at grass. it was only when i decided to get better focus on nite and the movement of my arm flashed glare from screen, fox bolted, deer went back to its 75yrds then came back at me. bye the way before some one posts should have shot them..... nite site was on .177 air rifle. marvelous to see, and side by side never seen that before
