It all started

I was p off with big heavy lamps or the price of some of them

I did I bit of research and came across a topic by Mick Miller pm him and had a good chat the man is so knowledgeable :thanks:

The kit off good old Ebay

UltraFire 501B CREE LED Light lamp Flashlight Torch + Battery Charger order that it came in about a week

Then it was the Scope Mount Adjustable Elevation and Windage 25mm & 30mm to hold the torch came in about 2weeks

The torch turned up but had a white led in :sad1: so back on Ebay and order a red drop in 120 LUMEN RED BULB ( so got white and red led now)

Back on the phone to Mick Miller got a AshHorton lens from him put it in the torch with the 120 lumen red led went out and tired it and was shooting bunnys out to 100 yards with the 17hmr

next wanted something that would go to 200 yards so this is what we made

501 with an Ash Horton lens kit and the custom red led soldered directly to a copper pill was the next job in other words it's waaaay brighter with this I can shoot out to 200+confidently and can see eye shine to 300+

Thanks Mick Miller :good: :good:

Mark

nice when its all your own work.

there is a lot of very clever people out there, i owe a fair bit to one person on BLF.

go for a Small sun T-13 and a Crelant head. Do a number on the driver and then de-dome a cree 401 red led. now we are throwing lights.

I was lighting the house up well over 800 meters away with a very small beam.

just waiting for new LEDs to arrive so i can run more tests on the right led for the job.

i have 10 t-20 here that im modding for friends. these are my new projects, cheaper than the other big name but smaller and more than enough for fox work.

the WF-501 is a cracking little torch with the mods done to it , when you overdrive the led you will get some excellent results and mick and myself have spent months experimenting with them,

your next thing to do would be get an IR droppin off Dave G on here and have a go with the night vision setup, its better again because your in total darkness and you can see everything

well done mick your a star

pigeon watch at its best YET AGAIN

You'd need another torch mark, that led and reflector have been heatsinked into the body to provide the best thermal path for the led. Mind you, as the torches are peanuts it's no bother. Just swap the lens and lens cap over and you can use just one lens and two bodies.

I tried a dedomed led activii, it threw well but the image was teeny weeny. Maybe I just did something a bit wrong?

Glad you like it Mark, wait until the nights start drawing in, the performance gets better.
