Reeceknight
thanks for all the help. I am planning on having the wood done this week but the screw that is under the action (just in front of trigger guard) that clearly needs to be removed will NOT BUDGE! And I mean will not budge and I'm worried about damage the screw as it already looks like someone's had a go at it many moons ago. professional advice needed please?? Next question! How the hell does the forend come apart? As in strip all metal from it? Thank Reece

Reeceknight
It was just very old so before paying a run it to a local gun smith to look it over he took it apart and measured it and said "lovely gun, well in proof, solid but just need cosmethics sorted and the barrels are slightly off the face. I was just repeating what he said to be honest lol
Reeceknight
Ok I know I'm new and probably being a pain and for this I'm sorry but........ After a few hours working on 1 screw I just got it out followed by me shouting "AHHH THANK GOD,**** YER!!!! Lol so that's done and I'm very happy, I have slightly dismantled the forend , well all visible screws, but it still won't come apart. So now there's nothing holding action to stock it still seem it well lodged together so before a hit or pull it is there a certain way it come apart? Not sure on the AYA forend, but if you take out the screws the metalwork should lift out. It might need a coax if it's been in a while. On the stock, have you taken out the bolt hidden under the trigger guard?
