Rogc
Doing the rounds Nr Hereford, came across this in a National Trust property. Apparently used to deter poachers. Spike into ground, and trip wire attached to the hammer, end result a nasty leg injury. There were also plenty of poacher man traps but unfortunately no photos. highseas
muzzle loading flint lock their would have been a iron ring attached to the underside of the front that the trip wire went thrue and the iron spike would se set so it pivoted around and they often had 3-4 trip wires set on them unfortunately the rain gaurd is missing from this one nice find thou Edited June 23, 2013 by highseas
mbga9pgf
Up until the late 80s I remember lengths of barb wire at chest height on my local pheasant beat. Apparently not nice to run into if being chased by farmer in the middle of the night caught poaching.
Olliesims
I saw one of these on storage wars, there a trip wire blunderbuss, mostly home made, but there used to guard graveyards from robbers, they originate from England ill try find the video
