think they are alittle too slow for both those calibres.

i havent seen any data for those.

i have seen sp2 used with 12gauge - 34g steel load at "fast speeds"

I have pmed you some data for SP2 vectan, in 16ga and 12ga. i have used it extensively this past two years but found it made prressure too sudenly for my likeing in the 16ga and allthough i did little testing with the 20ga what i did do showed me enough to know to avoid it in these gauges.

I included the common 34 gram steel load that no doubt cookoff is refering to above for your perousal, SP2 dose have some other application in 12ga and notably with 40gram and 42 gram 3.5 inch steel where it offers reasonable performance, but in 10ga steel it realy works well and the pressure / velocity balance is in some loads superior to the more ussual suspect powders commonly in use today. My advice mirrors as allready stated its not really a suitable powder for 16/20 ga in my opinion.

a interesting post! Iv not come across any 10g data for the SP2 powder .Are these loads that you have tested out of your own pocket? some of the loads the danes tested in the field with sp2 and some a friend had tested using 2400 look great untill the temps dropped then the vel fell by over 100fps .have you found this to be the case with the 10g

cheers Nick

UK fowler you are right SP2 is not a lover of frigid conditions and it makes pressure fast and with great ferosity if you get what i mean.

Now tecnan is a far more forgiving powder for the 16 and 20, and its more tollerent of the cold too.

UK fowler i get to use a strain gauge on request this is how we finaly test the loads normaly.
