Sony Action Cam Clay Shooting

I decided to buy an action camera a few months ago and was undecided whether to go with a Sony (know their camera video stuff after 30 years + research) or gopro (what I see as the Oakley of action cameras).

For a few different reasons and after doing some research I decided on the Sony, whilst I can't compare to gopro, I am very happy with it so far. I linked it into my iPhone as the view finder, which is very handy, with a app downloaded from the App Store, it's very simple to use.

I downloaded iMovie for iPad and wanted to try and use a tablet only, in a few weeks I'm off to NY/Hawaii/California/SanFran for my summer hols and want to film the activities we (kids really) get up to as a video memory, editing it as we go. This is my first edit, taking about 20 mins of video into about 1 1/2 minutes.

Nothing is more boring than watching a clay pigeon shooting video, this is only to show what the camera can do. I do plan to try it out on game as the birds are (mostly) heading towards you, on the clay shoot, as its combined with a BBQ I try to have all birds heading out wards.

Yes I have done some research also in terms of 'gopro verses action cam' and in every test I've seen the action cam is vastly superior except for underwater where the gopro seems to have the edge. The action cam is a LOT cheaper too and is a more ergonomic shape for mounting to your shotgun. Also with 120fps it allows for some awesome slow motion.

Makes you wonder why anybody buys a gopro really?

looks good to me....do you have any pics of this set up or just the camera :)

Yes, no problem, on the picture below I added my phone to give you an idea of the size.

I had it attached to my head using the headband, it's an optional extra, around £20 (which is a little expensive but it does come with the housing)
