lee-kinsman
I moved to South Derbyshire a few years ago and this year is the first year I'm going to have time to go exploring the rivers. Can anyone suggest to me some good stretches of the rivers in the area that don't require yearly membership of a club. I have a rod license and don't mind paying for a day ticket. Target species are all course fish. Thank you, Lee

Mr-Sheen
You aren't a million miles away from the trent. It has pretty much every species you could wish to fish for in it and has every type of fishing situation on it at one point or another. If you google, river trent angling clubs/associations I'm sure you will find some nice ones close by to you, and you get the benefit that joining a club brings of more security and private fishing.
