essexfluke
Evening, went down to the release pen to check my birds and found one lying on its side, it could hold its head up but could not walk. When I picked it up it started to kick its legs but when placed on the ground just fell on its side again. I checked it over and it seemed fine with no sign of injury, I noticed a bird limping last night and think it is the same bird. All the rest look fine and are about 8 weeks old. Has anyone got any ideas what it might be, I have knocked it on the head and removed just encase it is some sort of infection.

essexfluke
was the breast bone prominent No Paul it seemed completely healthy when holding it. I milked some poo and that look OK. Think it was just over stressed from delivery as they came on Sunday, but thought it was best to check.

kennett
I usually find the odd bird thats not right, sometimes with the symptoms you described, usually just knock it on the head and get rid of quick, just incase its something that can spread! Kes
I too have seen singular genetic deformities which produce the odd fatality - it seems to have been otherwise healthy so removing should make it the only casualty. Good luck.
