countryman
Hi I want to fit a light and some sort of red dot sight to my Benelli M2 semi auto, there appears to be some sort of dove tails cut into the receiver, is there a picatinny rail that would fit this. I would like the light to clamp on the side of the picatinny , there seems to be all sorts of rails for sale in the states but i can not see anything that looks suitable for me, all so i would rather buy something here in the UK if possible. Thanks Chris
Markbrowning
Chris, You are right there is very little and or nothing in the UK really for this. The dovetail top, will only mate up with dovetail products. Which isn't that good. You can get a dovetail to picinitay rail, but that's quite tall in nature and really isn't that useful or effective. If you really want this done, you are best off buying a Mesa tactical picitiny rail from the states, there are someothers available. That way the curvature of the rail would fit the receiver. All products are really made for the M2 tactical, which has already pre drilled holes from factory. Your M2 field does not. So would have to get a gunsmith to drill and tap your reciever. As for the light you are best off getting a picitinay barrel clamp. If you have a section 1 Benelli M2 get the nordic components magazine extension & barrel clamp with rail.
