grimey121uk
Well my variation finally came through for 223 and 8x57 this morning so I picked up a Mauser M48, not a bad deal as it came with the reloading dies, 200 once fired brass, 50 stripper clips and 5 ammo cases.for £250 all in! I shall be taking it down to the range in the morning to get it used:) Anyway, shameless excuse for a picture:) PS - They are not live rounds in the stripper clip, no powder or primer !!! grimey121uk
I've just been reading, its actually a M48 which I believe is very similar to a K98
Imperfection
Have fun with it tomorrow-you'll enjoy its bark. I have a 1944 K98. Reloading wise i find 44 grains of Alliant Reloder 15 with a 198 grain bullet is the best. However, you can buy old (circa 1955) Yugoslavian milsurp ammo for around £30 per 100 which is alright for plinking, but you will get duff rounds which just wont fire. If you can find any,the best stuff i ever had was 1945 German machine gun ammo-you could see where it had all been delinked and this was the best ammunition i have ever had accuracy wise.
