mickyh
I've just bought a Silver Pigeon 1 Sport and I'm very, very happy with it BUT.... The hard ABS box that it came in looks and feels very hard.I'm worried that it will scratch the gun. I'd like to use the case in the boot of the car for traveling to and from shoots as I'm worried about a soft Gunslip getting battered during driving. Has anyone had any problems with thier 'Hard Cases' And if so, is there a 'fix' or dont they get used. Thanks Mick
bostonmick
I have several hard cases and yes the silver pigeon one is quite plain you could buy a gun sock or put some foam in it.although I have never had a problem with them.
Gordon R
It shouldn't get scratched, but you can always line the case with drawer liner - the type they use in mechanics tool cabinets. I bought half a dozen rolls from the Pound Shop - at that price, it's hard to walk past.
mickyh
Thanks for both of those replys. Good idea's. I noticed the gun was well wrapped in a thin foam sheet when the case was opened. Blue Peter job for the weekend then !
glb8686
I have the exact same thoughts. I was considering getting the black inside bit 'Flocked' to prevent any marks. Just need to find some round here to do it.
mickyh
Well, with a RRP of approx. £1700 for the Gun (no I didn't pay that much),I think the case is a bit of a let down for the sake of some padding.
glb8686
Yeah i agree. The plastic can't be safe enough as they put the gun in polystyrene bags first. A surface like this may be good...
