wickedandlazee
Went out lamping last night for a few hours with the AAS410K. Considering the weather conditions (Bright moonlight and no wind) was lucky to get anything. Only saw half a dozen rabbits all night. The gun was spot on as i had been to the kibworth airgun range and zeroed it in earlier in the day - about 1/2" variation from 6-45 yards so ideal for bunny bashing. First rabbit ran when the lamp hit it (had to use red filters as unfiltered and orange light caused them to bolt - getting used to it i think :() but stopped just on the edge of a hedgerow. So i slowly walked up to about 25 yards and took a kneeling shot - smack - it did a back flip 1ft in the air dead as a dodo. Second rabbit me and my mate were lamping the edge of a field and there were about 5 rabbits at one end so we walked them up and were left with three rabbits at the edge of the field. They were running in circles as though not sure where to run - maybe they were young uns?. Anyway got to 40 yds set the bipod and took aim - thwack and it dropped like a stone no twitching whatsoever - smack on shot straight in the brain just behind the eye - perfect After that the moon was that bright it was like daylight and the whole place went dead so called it a night. When i was paunching one of the rabbits i noticed a sack of clear liquid about half an inch in diameter inside the skin - any ideas what this was and is it ok to eat - i've skinned, jointed and froze it but just want to make sure before i eat it. Apologies for the pic quality and also the fact i look like someat out of the hills have eyes At least now i've bagged a couple it will stop SPARKIE taking the mick :o cheeres rabbits

Less chance of tainting the meat then.. :(

Well done stuart I won't take the **** as i know your only just starting out .........In futre after shooting a rabbit flip it on it's back and hold it head high .With the free hand grip is torso and run a finger and thumb down it's belly to the anus which will in 9 out of 10 senario's cause the urine to exit the body ........have to press quite hard sometimes :(
