old rooster
Tried that mate, they aren't affected by the trees as their house is about 40 yards down their garden. They aren't very helpful at all, the only comment was that if the trees weren't there they could see into the en suite bathroom on the main bedroom. HDAV
Hmmm I would think cutting them down to the roof height shouldn't affect them and taking back the overhanging branches
old rooster
I think they are aware of the cost involved. Wouldn't be surprised to see them move and downsize before too long. If that happened I might be inclined to warn the estate agent that the trees had already caused damage to my garage and that the insurance company have told the owner that if the damage reoccurs they will pursue the owner for repair costs. I footed the bill for the original repairs as I got them done for the same price as my excess. Seemed daft to make the claim and put up the premiums when I'd have had to pay the grand anyway. al4x
surely the cost can't be that much to sort them out? How many are there? I'd have done some pruning long ago on them to keep them back onto their side, I did one a lot closer to a house than that a few years back with a cherry picker and that was brilliant for it, yours is far simpler and could if you had to be done by just hiring a scaffold tower for the day

The trouble with these things is that they grow fast but you don't notice just how fast if you see them every day. There are four of them but they are massive at the bottom where the main trunks have branched out. Maybe I will hire a scaffold tower, I was quoted £2k to do the job and that ain't going to happen! Need to leave it until the birds have finished nesting so it will be an autumn job. Be ideal to cut them down and put them on our November 5th bonfire! HDAV
A standard scissor lift would be ideal with a pole pruner, you could hire the lot for a couple of hundred for a weekend.not sure if you can hire a lift without a mewp liscence but worth checking
