Date needed for these ammo boxes ?

Recommended Posts

Almost a hundred views & no suggestions :hmm: now I don't know if its any indication of a possible date but I found these 2 cartridge carton tops in the 1980s when I was pulling down a house in Melbourne Australia & I found them behind a cast iron fire surround with some other bits & pieces which were mostly Edwardian including a letter written in Egypt by a soldier serving in the Australian Light Horse & dated 1916 , dose this help any cartridge box buffs to putting a date on them ? :hmm::hmm::hmm: .

Just had a look at the Winchester box Dougy & there is no made in U.S.A on it unless its on small part of the label that is missing on the lower left hand side of the box ?

I think its safe to assume it must be of the earlier date , Many thanks for the info , still working on the Remington box & as they were found together I think its safe to bet they are from the same period . :good: .
