Hodmedod.one
I have a Steyr SSG .243 win. I get very good results with PPU ammo.

I was unaware of any possible problem until I read the other thread. Sorry I cannot help on .222 bullet weights.

mry716
Hi Stick to 50gr with the 222 as I am sure that will be better. it is with most rifles. If you are home loading you could try some Hornady 40gr as they seem to be doing the business for quite a lot of folk. Have got some myself but not got around to testing them. I usually use 50gr Ballistic Tips over standard primers and 20 gr of Reloader 7 and am hard pushed to generate groups larger than an inch - and I am not really a very good shot. decroyffe
Thanks Mry, i'll take your advice with the 50gr, i'll be getting a box this weekend hopefully and give them a whirl next week regards kieran
Big Dog
I haven't used PPUs but I have used = W /chester Super X = W/chester Supremes = Sako I prefer the Super X 50g. Best groups and I also found out recently that they are the most sought after over here. At 160 to 175yrs cut right through a fox Ps I shoot a .222 Steyr Pro-Hunter Mountian Mk2 with an ART8 reflex Mod Hope this helps

bennyblanco
my .223 mountain really likes hornady v-max 55gr, not a bad price too although me and my shooting buddy have finally got all the **** together to reload now. i did a post on trigger adjustments in the shooting picture section if you are interested, its on a bigdog steyr thread
