Marc Z
Hi all, The venue I'm in has a temporary production power socket labelled as 125a 400v. Am I right in working this out as safe for 450,000W spread evenly over the 3 phases? So 110,000W per phase is fine? Thanks in advance, MZ

Paul223
sure 125 amp at 400 volt would be 50000 watt ?
Griff36
A 400v supply fitted with 125A fuses is 150kW or 50kW per phase. Dont forget PF if you are supplying reactive loads
goodo123
It's also important to check the supply mcb/fuses as although the socket might be marked up at that it doesn't mean the supply to the socket is. also you need to look if your going between 2 phases for 415v or 1phase and n as the socket might not be supplied with a neutral. goodo123
Also note that if your using 230v the max power will be reduced.
