Going shooting tomorrow ( mid day ) on a farm that's just been cut. I have around 15 flocked crow decoys, 10 pigeon shell + 2 pigeon flocked. Dont know if its best to put pigeons in horse shoe and a few crows to the side or does any1 have any other ideas as new to decoying. I like shooting pigeons but id rather shoot crows so looking for a sort of universal pattern that could attract both pigeons and crows.

Thanks all

Horse shoe and V shape patterns can work but for the beginner to understand decoy layout, kill zone and range they are a basic kick off point, gaining the experience of dropping birds within the kill zone and over a set decoy range layout being advantageous to know to get your eye , gun, mount and reactions in sync.

Altering the pattern from the basic horseshoe and V pattern as experience gained and the birds dictate on the day.
